level of skills in mountaineering or physical condition. A walk during
1.5 to 3.5 hours Or more long from 4 to 6 hours ( excl. transport time ) gives you a relaxing touch

Samaria Gorge Full Day Hiking Tour
Come join me on this private day tour discover one of the most
important natural wonders in Crete!
While I live in Crete - Chania It will be my pleasure to show you the mountains of
my home area! During this trip we will visit and cross the
Samaria gorge! We can see part of Lefka Ori Mountains with
summits over to 2. 200m and I can tell you how they were 25 year
before! I had cross this place more than a thousand times in
summer and winter, but I'm still interested like the first time!
Join me and I will definitely show you the mountainous area
where I started my career at the age of 12!
Our day starts early in the morning. I pick you up and we have a
1 hour transfer to the entry of the Samaria gorge!
- There, we will have our first short stop to take same pictures
and coffee.
- Our moderate hiking will start from Xyloskalo, 1250m over the
sea level. At the beginning, for an hour, the path is downhill.
We will be under the big windy trees, with mountains around us
up of 2000 metres hight, with a small stops and talks about the
of nature of Samaria.
- At the old village we will have a longer stop to refresh
ourselves, talk about Cretan life and eat some Cretan snacks!
- Now the path is more levelness nice and easy with a small
stops! The sound of the river will follow us until the end of
the hike.
- After 16km it will be nice to have a swim at the blue see
water!
- Then, we will enjoy a meal at local restaurant to try nice
homemade dishes.
- Finally, we will take a ferry for 60 minutes to the next
village destination and then, we will drive back to our home but
20:00

Easy Samaria Gorge Day Hiking Tour
Welcome to this private day trip and discover nature of South
Crete on a journey
between mountain and sea
While I live in Crete - Chania It will be my pleasure to show
you the villages and mountains of my area!
During this excursion we will visit and walk part of the Samaria
Gorge! From the South side of it
Our day starts in the morning. I'll pick you up, After 1 hour
and 30 min driving to the village of Sfakia!
There we will make a short stop for same photos and take a short
walk around the village. Then we will take the ferry that will
take us to the village of Agia Roumeli.
Our hike will start from Agia Roumeli, 10 m above sea level.
At the beginning for quite some time the path is flat
rises up to 150 m above sea level We will be under the big windy
trees, with mountains around us with a height of 2000 m, with
small stops and discussions about the nature of Samaria.
At the narrowest point (Portes) we make a longer stop for a
pictures and c. o.
The path smooth nice! And with the sound of the water in the
river follow us to Christ to the next point!
We will stop there and return to Agia Roumeli
After 8 kilometers it will be nice to swim in the blue sea!
Afterwards, we will enjoy a meal at the local restaurant to
taste nice home-cooked dishes. Finally, we take the ferry back
and the car to home around 20:00

Samaria Gorge view - Half Day Tour

view of the Samaria Gorge!
I chose this 2 to 3 hour hiking trip to visit the entrance
of the Samaria Gorge, see the White Mountains with peaks up
to 2.200m and to enjoy the panoramic sights! The magnificent
view of the mountains and the entire Samaria Gorge will make you
wonder how amazing nature is. And I will definitely be happy
to show you the mountainous area where I grew up!
(I recommend this trip when the Samaria Gorge is not yet
open)
Our day starts in the morning. I will pick you up and we will
have a 1 hour transfer all the way up to the entry of the
Samaria gorge!
We will have a short time (30mins approx. ) to take same
pictures and coffee with same local snacks. Our moderate hiking
day starts next to the entry of the Samaria.
We will walk under the big windy trees with mountains around us
up of 2000 metres hight. After some time we will get to the
alpine zone, with less trees but with some snow! After 1 to 1.
30hour, we will get at the magnificent point 1680 m over the sea
level: Kallergi Refuge.
We will enjoy the mountains and the sea around us with a
fantastic view of the Samaria gorge! You will also be able to
see both the Cretan and Libyan seas. We will stay for 50 minutes
to take some photos, talk and see the rural and pastoral life in
Crete!
After the break, we will get the road to go back to Chania.
Our day ends in Omalos where you can have a nice home made food.

Fygou and Agia Irini Gorge Loop Hiking Day Tour
Come join me on this private day tour & discover one of the most
amazing natural wonders in Crete!
I created this tour for you to be able to visit the Lefka Ori
Mountains with summits over 2000m, the entry of the Samaria
gorge, to make one of the most beautiful loop hiking at the two
differed gorges Figou and Aria Irini gorge and with a finale to
Omalos plateau 1. 050m for meal with local food and hospitality!
Our day start in the morning. We will drive one hour all the way
up to the entry of the Samaria Gorge.
We will have around 30 min to take some pictures and have coffee
and traditional snacks with mountains view! The hiking starts
from Agios Theodoros down at the Vanetian path (Vasiliki Strata)
under the big wildly trees cypress hoss trees and Oak trees very
nice hiking at beautiful gorge of Figou wild holy life long we
are without voices!
After 2-3 hours of hiking down we continue up via Agia Irini
Gorge and at the entry place of Agia Irini Gorge we will have
sort time 45 min for same drinks and Cretan snacks.

Our hiking day is ends after 2 hours at this morning starting
place back to Agios Theodoros.
Our day ends in Omalos plateau for a nice local meal and drinks
and the hospitality of the mountain people!

Zorba The Greek from Gouverneto Monastery Half Day Light Hiking Tour
Welcome to this private day trip and discover the nature of
Zorba the Greek
It will be my pleasure to show you the mountains of my home
area!
I choose this trip of 2 to 3 hours to show you the history of
the monasteries and swim on the famous beach from the movie
Alexis Zorbas! I will be more than happy to tell you everything
I know and show you the secret path that the monks used!!
I'll pick you up in the morning and we will get a transfer to
the monastery.
There, we will have time to refresh ourselves and talk about the
history of the monasteries.
Our easy walk starts outside the monastery. We will cross the
garden and start to descend.
On the way we will visit the historical cave of Arkouditisa.
Stop for 30 min to talk about it.
We continue down in our way to Kotholiko monastery. We will
visit and talk about it for 20 min.
After a break we continue walking at the small narrow gorge with
a lot of small trees of locust and Olives.
After our 2 to 3 hours walk (with a breaks) we will get to the
Alexis Zorbas Beach. Many years ago the movie about the life of
Alexis Zorbas was shot here, with the famous writer Nikos
Kazatzakis. It was a black and white movie with famous and
unforgettable Anthony Quinn!
At the beautiful beach we will have 50 minutes for swimming and
then you can taste some local food.
Finally, we will have our transfer back to your hotel.

beginning, path is easy downhill. We will be under the big windy
trees, with mountains around us up of 2000 metres hight, with a
small stops and talks about the of nature of Imbros. The
walking less of 3 hours to end to the Komitades village!
we will be driven to the area of Sfakia where we will go for a
swim on the beautiful beaches of Ilinkas! And then to Sfakia
village where you can enjoy your meal by the sea.
We stay there for about a few hours, but the exact length of
your stay is up to you.

I'm coming to pick you up from your hotel
then to our destination Aradaina
Short stop to enjoy the mountain scenery. Then we started our
hike in the Aradina gorge. it is very impressive and the most
different from all the other gorges of Crete and Greece.
it has some peculiarities apart from its impressive red
rock (Something red like the Grand Canyon)
The hike in many places is done holding the rock with the hands.
Where after 3 hours of hiking we end up in Marmaras! Small but
fantastic beach with blue and crystal clear waters where you can
still see the bottom of the sea! We will stay there to enjoy our
bath and our food. By taxi later we will go to Loutro village by
the sea with white houses and blue windows and doors for a short
trip and then we will go to Sfakia village to return to our home

Agia Irini Gorge
A wonderful walk through the small, less known gorge of Agia
Irini.The landscape is very dramatic as it varies from mountain
to coastline and gives us a chance to see a great part of the
central and south-western part of Crete. In Sougia we can enjoy
a swim in the clear waters of the south coast.
